Thrilled to have recently led a Transformative Communication training session for the Nursing Champions at Apple Institute of Child Health with Dr. Parag Dagli, aimed at fostering empathy-driven interactions with patients.

Our focus? Creating a space where every encounter, whether on-call, in-person, or via video, feels comfortable and reassuring for the individual on the other end. The session began with the premise that every Individual has their own space. And that respecting that space is an important part of making that individual feel comfortable.

It is important to GET the world of the other person FIRST. And only once you get THEM, you are trying to put across your point of view.
It is important that they GET that they are GOTTEN.

Through role-playing exercises, we honed in on the essence of genuine connection—stripping away unnecessary jargon and complexities to embrace simplicity and clarity. Each staff member walked away equipped with the tools to approach every interaction with warmth, understanding, and respect.

Communication lies at the heart of healthcare. Our words matter just as much as our medicines. However, this training wasn’t just about words—it was about a mindset shift. It’s about recognizing the profound impact of our interactions and choosing to infuse them with kindness and empathy. Together, we’re not just shaping a treatment plan; we’re shaping healing experiences.

Grateful to the Nursing Champions at Apple Institute of Child Health & specifically Dr.Parag Dagli for their commitment to growth and empathy. Here’s to creating spaces where humanity shines brightest, one conversation at a time!
